Book websites that sell ideas can be simple brochure sites that tell the story, or they can be interactive commerce sites from which customers can buy. Many services offer website design and hosting that also include options to link up with a Credit Card Provider. That is the simplest approach for a new web presence.

Websites for books and intellectual property of all media are works in progress. They need to be updated as your products change, as your business changes, as the market place grows.

Here are some ways to increase the visibility of your book site on the huge World Wide Web.

Include Meta tags: Title, Description and Keywords

Include Page titles that are heavy with key search words for your product subjects -- terms that prospects would search for to find your book. Stay away from marketing slogans and cute terms. Engineer your headlines with key words and then give them a high HTML code such as H1 or H2. Include subheads with key words and give them a high HTML code such as H2 or H3.

Write book descriptions peppered with key words for your book. Notice how I keep using "book" in my copy. That is a key word that helped bring you to this article. Write your copy, then go back and edit for your top 3 to 5 key words that will attract shoppers to your book.

Include Image tags with key words. And make sure you include good images of your book. And if inside the book illustrations are appealing, include those illustrations as well. And maybe a table of contents because TOCs are usually filled with keywords.

Have some fun with your website so your prospects will enjoy the experience as well, but keep in mind that your website presents your company image. What they see is that they think of you!
