Comics are so hot -- and interpretive!
Comic Con is the phenomenon of the decade. This San Diego, CA convention is growing exponentially from its roots of comic book fan-attraction into a Hollywood schmooze fest.
What does that have to do you with you...as marketers, educators and interpreters? It gives you a colorful ticket to getting attention.
Comics are like storyboards. They communicate with both visuals and narrative stories. They just don't require video gear!
Comics can be a strip, a panel or a whole book(let).
Comics can be serious, fun or audacious.
But comics appeal to people of (most) all ages.
And now you can make them youself with drag and drop ease. And with prepackaged characters, background, and dozens of easy to use bubbles, baubles and beads! Even Marvel Comics is getting into the act by licensing the use of Marvel superheroes to the maker of "Comic Book Creator", a software package that makes it possible even for young students to create comic books with ease.
I was impressed when I saw the demo of this software. Having been a graphic designer for more years than I'll admit to, I must say that these programmers/artists truly put an artist into their digits.
Comic Book Creator is self publishing software that allows you to create your own comic books.
I can see this tool being used for a wide variety of marketing and program materials. Since you can import your own photos, drawings and screenshots, you can customize the background for your location -- add characters of your choice from wildlife to widgets -- and tell your story on one COLORFUL POSTCARD...or coloring SHEET, or BOOKlet.
