Glee Brings Group Singing and Performance the Spotlight
Glee is a runaway... or runway hit! This TV series about high school musicians... and their not-so-mature sponsors -- has hit a creative chord with the thousands and thousands of gleeclub and chorus enthusiasts in school and out.
The long-rumored 'Glee Live!' tour is coming to Los Angeles on May 20 and 21, 2010 at the Gibson Amphitheatre.
From early critics' choice, Glee caught on and became a pop culture phenomenon for Fox. The current 'Glee' series is finally getting back to its eagerly awaited return to primetime and relaunching with fanfare. The cast's invitation to perform at the White House was just the beginning of a stellar publicity campaign. Los Angeles has been tapped as one of three lucky cities to get the "Glee Live" appearances.
"Glee" returns to Fox on April 13, airing Tuesday evenings @ 9/8c.
One of the reasons for the series' popularity is that choral singing has developed incredible new performance zing in the past decade... bring with it new popularity in schools, and even in adult musical avocations. With churches, festivals, and an endless stream of children wanting to warble like little songbirds... it's no wonder that glee has a strong following.
